There's twice the terror in this subterranean horror sequel. The Descent 2 pits surviving heroine Sarah and a rescue team against a new tribe of cave-crawling monsters. Even more vicious and deformed than the original beasties, these man-eaters will stop at nothing to sate their appetites!
Dazed, bloodied and speechless with trauma, Sarah Carter (Shauna Macdonald) emerges alone from the Appalachian cave system where the events of The Descent took place. Local Sheriff Redmond Vaines forces her back underground to help the rescue team desperately searching for her five missing girlfriends.
As the team move deeper into the caves, Sarah's flashes of fractured memory intensify and she begins to realise the full horror of the would-be rescue mission. Only Sarah knows of the terror lurking in the shadows of the caves. But they are about to encounter a new tribe of Crawlers, inbred, deformed and even more viciously feral than those Sarah faced before.

It seems that we have been waiting ages for this sequel and it has been worth the wait.
Continuing on from where the first film ended we are once again taken on a thrill ride deep in the caverns. There are shocks galore and enough gore to keep the gorehounds happy!
I can't wait for the DVD release!
This is a very well made film, with all the same style as the original, the story continues with a new group of characters descending into terror as they search for any surviving girls! This is a fantastically gory and disturbing film as was the original, it has allot more claustrophobic scenes too deep in tight spaces and underwater, enough to make you glad your breathing! If you liked the original for the cool original and fun movie it was then you should get the same from this as really its all part of the same story, there are however a few little surprises in store and an ending you wont see coming.
The opening sequence to this sequel to the brilliant 2005 original, may leave the Uk viewer scartching their head in confusion, as it seem's to contradict how the fantastic bleak ending of part 1 finished.
This is becuase the American viewer felt the original ending was too uncompromising, and they needed to see Sarah escape the caverns.
So this sequels starts after her escape. After this confusion the movie settles down to be another great bloody, claustrophobic and at times intensley scary thrill ride. Where Sarah gets thrown back at the Crawler's with another buch of victims. The surprise of the original is lacking, as it's more of the same, but what is really good is that there are a few good surprises plot wise, and some brilliant shocks. If your a fan of the original this second chaper is a worthy conclusion, and a very good sequel, that managers to expand on what the classy original set up.
Bloody, Scary. Clastrophobic, Nasty Fun!
The Descent is one of my fave films, and i was like omg when i found out they were goin to do a sequel, but its sad they changed directors as Neil Marshall is just awesome and this sequel lost his charm. I enjoyed it because it was more of the same terrifyin use of the dark and claustrophobia as the 1st one. But why change the crawlers? They look like they've come straight out of Lord Of The Rings haha. I was happy to see Juno back in it to as she was my favourite. I think this is a decent sequel but totally unnecessary. The ending proves that. But all in all its a good film and was worth the money :)
Really good sequel, was thinking it would be hard to match the 1st film & not expecting much but really enjoyed this & thought at last a good sequel following the first film. Thumbs up & worth buying defiently.
